Hello I’m Lawrence Birch and I’m the owner of GivingTree Farm Herb Company, an Oregon-
based natural products and related services herbal business. Since 1993 I’ve been providing the best-quality wildcrafted, natural and organic herbs to my many happy clients and customers.
And since 2000 I’ve been a practicing, Certified Clinical Herbalist offering herbal whole-health
consultations for my many clients who are looking for alternative and complementary healing
So it was with great excitement that I heard about a new device developed in partnership with
Oregon State University by an Oregon-based business that was innovative and safe to use for
making my own finest quality hydrosols. After trying a borrowed EssenExTM-100A with a friend
and fellow herbalist I knew I had to have one! I convinced her to get us the EssenExTM 100A
(Advanced) Essential Oil Extraction Kit – 2 Pack which was a really great deal allowing each of us
to have fun experimenting together in our separate labs!
Even when her glass distillation vessel cracked after using it only two times the good people at
OilExTech replaced it right away with no questions asked. Talk about stellar customer service! A
vital part of my own business is about maintaining my good relationships with my clients and
customers. When I find another like-minded company that values their relationships with their
customers, too, it makes me want to become a loyal member of their team!
After working with the model 100A for about a year and a half knew I was ready to scale up to
the larger EssenEx-300 and fortunately OilExTech was ready to meet my business’ needs. In
addition to having wonderful customer service they seem to be great at anticipating their
customers’ issues and interests. I purchased the EssenEx-300TM then bought their
recommended-sized 1400W microwave from another supplier and started working with it right
away! It was incredibly exciting to be able to work with bigger amounts of plant material in
order to distill larger amounts of essential oil and hydrosol in just one batch!
Here’s a list of just some of the fresh herbs I’ve successfully distilled to date:
- Black sage
- Cleveland Sage
- White Sage
- Blood orange
- Sweet orange
- (Fresh) Chamomile
- (Fresh) Cinnamon leaves and twigs
- Lavender (of course!)
- Lemon Balm
- Lemon Eucalyptus
- Lemon Grass
- Ponderosa lemon
- Stinging Nettle
My next stage in working with the EssenEx distiller is to bring my special herbal products to
market. With successful product and market testing almost complete I am very much looking
forward to offering a wonderful series of hydrosols and other essential oil-based items to the
public! Let’s face it; those of us in the know understand that the demand for the highest quality
essential oil products is only growing. Even if you’re not involved with herbs professionally I
know you will enjoy the amazing results you will get working with OilExTech’s fine line of
microwave essential oil distillers.
And finally: don’t be put off –even if you’re not scientifically-minded– by the detailed
instructions on how to use them. It helps to have a friend you trust work with you the first few
times you try making your first couple batches of essential oil, so that you can help each other
keep track of processing your herbs and plant materials in your new OilExTech distiller – and
then you both will get to share in the fun and fabulous results! Happy distilling!
