How To Make Peppermint Oil

Step 1: First to how to make peppermint oil is you need to obtain the mint leaves from the plant. If you grow peppermint in your garden, go ahead and pick off a good amount of leaves off of the plant. Otherwise, buy some fresh mint from the herbs section of the grocery store.

Step 2: No matter where you obtained the leaves, you will need to wash it. Throw the mint leaves into a strainer and thoroughly rinse them with water. Then, lay all the mint leaves spread out on paper towels and wait for them to completely dry.

Get your jar and put the peppermint leaves in the jar, from there take your carrier oil and cover the entirety of the leaves. Don’t fill up the whole jar, otherwise the extract will become over diluted.

Step 5: Let your oil sit for at least 24 hours. If you desire for a more potency, you can let it sit for three days.

Step 6: After the time is up, strain out the peppermint leaves by using a strainer or cheesecloth. Strain it into a separate bowl and after straining the leaves, place it back into the original container.
